Don't worry. No spoilers here, but House of Cards on Netflix? Wow! My husband and I recently finished the final episode of Season 4. We tried to stretch it out as far as possible...really, we did! Yet, we didn’t even make 30 days. This season was just too good! If you don’t already watch House of Cards…cross your fingers for a string of rainy days or a bad cold so you can curl up with Netflix and partake in our current culture’s mysterious pastime…binge watching! You won’t be sorry…but you also won’t accomplish much until you finish all four seasons. I warned you…
I have always enjoyed Robin Wright and her work. I faithfully watched the soap opera Santa Barbara in the 1980s and loved her as Kelly Capwell.
It seems Robin Wright continues to grow more graceful and beautiful with age.
She is cool and stylish.
Her character on House of Cards…Claire Underwood…is pure genius.
Elegant, chic, poised, stunning, sharp and sexy.
Much like binge watching, another topic that's almost impossible to ignore is the constant buzz surrounding Marie Kondo’s guidelines for tidying up our lives.
Magazines, blogs, news stories, friends and family members are chiming in on the merits of putting the KonMari Method to work in all areas of our lives.
(Want to know more about this incredible method? Check this out)
As I declutter, tidy and organize, I find myself fantasizing a bit about who has actually mastered this "life-changing magic of tidying up".
I'm curious about strangers, friends and celebrities, wondering…how do they fold their t-shirts? What lurks under their bathroom sinks?
Crazy, I know. However, in all of my daydreaming and exploration I believe I've identified an imaginary KonMari role model.
Here’s what I’ve decided…
The KonMari Method in human form is...
Whether she resides in the Netflix White House or not, I’m quite certain that Claire’s cupboards are in order.
Her papers discarded and her desk clean.
Her clothing folded into neat little rectangles.
Her hair is consistently tidy.
Every word she speaks seems intentional and uncluttered.
Claire’s wardrobe is simple, understated and deliberate. A capsule at its finest.
Ahhh, life goals.
When there is order, the chaos and messiness of real life don’t throw a wrench into our daily routine.
By having systems in place we create peace in our homes. From that place, our days can truly be fully lived. What a brilliant plan. I’m all in.
If you haven’t read Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I strongly suggest that you do. And soon.
The act of decluttering is transformative.
Maybe grab a copy of the book and turn on House of Cards…tidying categories while you cruise through four seasons with the Underwoods.
